When we look at a woman, what we see is her physical body; but there is so much more to her than just what we see. Each of us is a complex system of energy centres, energy systems and energy bodies. Having a womb or womb and ovaries removed does not stop a woman from being female, and it does not remove the energy centre that is associated with the womb.

For women the most important energy centre is our Womb Centre. It is our centre of female empowerment and strength, our centre of connection and creativity. When this centre is connected to the Womb of the Earth, we experience our soul returning home, grounding in our body and in the present moment, and we experience a balance between our body, mind and soul. The first thing we do in the Womb Blessing meditation is to connect our Womb Centre to the Earth so that she can restore the energies. Later in the meditation we open to the Moon so that she too can fill our Womb Centre and open us to receive the Womb Blessing energy.

Women without a womb still have a Womb Centre, and can still use the meditation to unwrap the gift of the Womb Blessing energy. In fact, for some women who have had a hysterectomy receiving the Blessing is hugely important because of the physical and emotional distress caused by the need for surgery and the surgery itself.  The Womb Blessing can help to restore the sense of being beautifully and joyfully female without a womb. It can bring peace to the distress, acceptance of the loss, and awareness of the embracing depth of femininity beyond the physical womb and fertility.
